Hey guys I finally made an account because I had to share my frustration with someone who may understand. My wife had her visa interview in Islamabad in dec 2012 and it was placed in administrative processing, even though I had visited her during that time to ensure everything goes well. I had married her in 2011 and came back to the us for school and applied for her right away. Anyways, during her interview they called me and told me it'll be 3 to 5 months and that he had no doubt she would get her visa. It's been 7 months, and nothing. My wife is getting more frustrated by the day, and I can't go live with her because I work here and have college loans to pay off. And obviously she's a wife, so she doesn't understand that. Help me guys!! Make me feel better :'(

I don't think I can make you feel better, only you can do that. There are plenty of resources available here to help you take action.

As for a wife not understanding - anyone who takes this journey has to understand that it is hard. Women are quite capable of understanding...I found that simply being transparent and honest with my wife about things works.

Good luck!

Was there a reason for the AP or is it just general AP?

There is a thread, several actually, in the Administrative Processing forum, that could probably help or at the very least offer support.

I"m sorry you guys can't be together. I know it's very hard. I can't imagine how hard it must be with you can't do anything to fix it, nor know what's wrong. Best wishes for you both. Stay positive!

The only reason of being put on AP is security checks if your relationship is genuine in all ways. In your case , you don't seem to have a big age difference or some other weird thing that looks odd in pakistani/US culture.

This is the case for us too. Our case is very simple and normal in all ways. but still we are going through Administrative processing. It is all because of bad things criminals and terrorists have done in Pakistan.

USCIS I-130 Petition for Spouse

September 2012: Filed from abroad to Chicago Lockbox

4 days later: NOA1, Routed to California Service Center

7 days later: Transferred because of new jurisdiction

5 days later: Case Status changed to: Under processing at USCIS office

NOA2 arrived 78 days after NOA1 :)

*I-130 Approval Notice hardcopy finally received in Pakistan, the only notice that arrived.

what do you mean by " And obviously she's a wife, so she doesn't understand that"?

Pretty offensive if you ask me...

By that I meant that wives sometimes have a "idc make it happen" kinda reaction sometimes which is natural as part of their emotions, that's what I meant by she doesn't understand. But in reality she's the most understanding person I know, I think the reason it's in AP is because we didn't consummate to marriage because they asked her if we lived together and then called me during her interview to ask the same question and we both said no so that removed a lot of doubts about dishonesty.

so, the marriage wasn't consummated before the I-130 was filed?

IMO, that's the major reason it's in AP.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
