I never heard of this too..Actually we didn't abstain from it since i had my medical 2 days before my husband left for the states and got no problems with urine test.

Can she have her medical if its her time of the month? I think I read something on here that she should simply wait the few days till its over. Safe bet? Anyone have experience with this?

Certain vaccines can have serious side effects on the fetus when administered during pregnancy that's why SLEC has to be sure that the woman is not pregnant and will not be advised to get pregnant for a certain period of time after the vaccine was given. If I remember it right, its the MMR and varicella vaccines.

Thanks! Why a week before the interview and not earlier? Doesn't it take a week to et there and we then run the chance of getting a 221g for missing medical records if the consulate didn't get it yet ?

No sex is easy I'm 15000 miles away and won't be there for the interview.

And a week after period makes sense. Thanks for the input

The embassy suggests you do the medical 7 -10 before the interview.

Yes I've read the "at least" that's all I'm curious about in that say you did it 2 or 3 weeks before would it somehow be invalid or soured lol?

Maybe need to place a call to the embassy.

Just trying to keep her busy and also cut into any TB time (god forbid) we experience.

Doing the medical a month or more early is not an issue either, just remember it will reduce the visa validity time as that is tied to the medical date.

Couple years ago a couple were not paying attention and his fiancée missed the validity date by one day. Not sure if the embassy allowed them to do another medical and renew the visa or if it was a total do-over. They never came back on and posted the result.
