Hi guys! quick question: I had to resend a document part of my IV packet and so I realize we have now been pushed back because of this but I was wondering, if any of you had an RFE, do you have to wait AGAIN the whole 20 business days they tell you to wait or does it move a bit faster? thanks!

Do you mean a checklist? I had to double check to see if what stage you were at because an RFE can be an indeterminate amount of time, but they only occur with the USCIS. A checklist at the NVC can take the 20 business days to review a checklist but generally only takes about 10. It goes to the document review department which is a bit different than the normal case review department.

Yes, sorry, I am in the NVC stage.and yes, I do mean a checklist ( dunno why I said RFE, got a but confused there, it's 1:30 am here haha) But so yeah, I know it goes to the DR not the other one, that's why I was keeping my fingers crossed it takes less time and they would have less correspondence I guess. Of course, on the phone they still tell you 20 days....Thanks NikiR.

No they normally have to add something you've forgotten or fix it in the case file, but it generally takes less time than a normal review of the whole case.

My reviews took 11 days but a checklist took 16 days. Of course the extra 5 days seemed like a lifetime and did make me miss the cut off for an August interview.

Oh goodness. You've had a rough time of it Gowon. I've noted that. :(

Yeah, it's been a long tough road but Gods time is the best I guess (we just wish that Gods schedule is the same as ours rofl.gif ).

Petition was also lost between USCIS and NVC for almost two months but at least they found it.

Thanks.

I know the feeling...I just needed one more document (had sent it the first time but it was incorrect...) and should have had case complete over a week ago...now still waiting...I think I would have gotten an August interview as well but really hoping for an early September one...good luck to you!

Good luck to all of us.

The mistake for the checklist was squarely mine (a couple hundred off of AGI) and I own up to it but still not sure why they just didn't correct it and note it. I mean they have original tax transcript from the IRS.

That's another thing, why can't they just get an electronic copy from the IRS anyways once you provide your SSN.

hi :) It was a police record, but not from Romania. I lived in the UK a year and had to get one from there, which I did before I left there but as I found out after they send me the checklist, it wasn't the one the Embassy accepts, so I had to quickly get the right one...
