Okay heres the situation, we sent in the petition packet to the Frankfurt Consulate on 14JUN2013 and still no sign of an NOA. On the I-130, on my (I am the sponsor) address I put my address stateside; As for I am stationed overseas in Germany. On my wife's part we put her German address. Well she sent it via german postal to the Consulate, she also put her return address on the envelope. My question is that, what address would the NOA be sent to? I am hoping it's her address.

Thanks! Have a great weekend!

Harrison

are you seeking DCF or something else?

Based on the fact you sent it to Frankfurt and not the lockbox address in USA,

is quite possible that you've confused the USCIS staff in Frankfurt.

Instead of worrying about any 'NOA' - you should, instead, touch base with the USCIS office in Frankfurt and inquire for status.

The reason behind me "accidentially" putting my stateside address was I thought it asking for my permanent address. My address while overseas is an APO address which is temporary until I get a change of duty station. I am trying to have it as her address because I will probably be in Germany all the way up until it is finalized.

Sounds good, I got the phone number and such. Any idea how to approach this to the tele-operator? I am not quite sure what to say, ask for a status and a change of address? Sorry for my lack of information, as we dont have much help since I am still currently deployed in Afghanistan, with incredibly slow internet.

some dialogue with the contact # thingie in Frankfurt, Germany:

You: Hi ! I sent in an I-130 for Direct Consular Filing - Please transfer me to the USCIS desk. I'm deployed in Afghanistan at the moment, and need to talk with a human at the USCIS desk.

---

You, with a USCIS worker: Hey ! I sent in my I-130 on <<date>> - what status do you have?

-=-=-=-=

That's about it, for the moment. The 'addresss problem' that you think you have, won't matter, as you filed into Frankfurt. Any DCF filing doesn't have NOA-1 or 2 - you MIGHT get an approval notice, you might not, but once the I-130 is approved, you'll receive instructions with the Consular Casefile Number for what to submit next.

Sweet thanks! So since I might or might not get a notice, then what address would the next set of instructions be sent to?

On my G-325A though, I did list my APO address as my present residence though. So maybe that might change the worries of my mistake?

when you talk to a human on Monday - do go over the address - but

if your wife is living on post, I suggest to use that address, instead.

Hi harrisonthai,

We recently started our DCF in Frankfurt. While we are not with the military, you will still receive the same paperwork as I did. I sent in the Petition on May 15, and got the "NOA1" which is a "thank you for applying for a visa" packet of papers, on May 25. The paperwork was sent to my husband, not me (though we live together). We received our NOA2 (which stated that the petition was approved and asked for the DS 230) on July 12. The NOA2 was also sent to my husband, not me.

I agree that you should call the consulate today, but I also think the paperwork will be sent to your wife.

I am the USC, my husband is German.

I resided in Germany from July 2008-October 2013.

I have two stepsons who are staying in Germany.

Our son was born 3/3/2012 and our daughter was born 4/4/2015.

DCF STARTED!MAY 14, 2013: I-130 Petition sent to Frankfurt as registered mail w/ return receipt!

MAY 15, 2013: Mail signed for in Frankfurt. NOA1

MAY 21, 2013: Return receipt came back in the mail.

MAY 25, 2013: $420 Petition fee was charged to our credit card.

MAY 25, 2013: NOA1 paperwork received in the mail.

JULY 12, 2013: NOA2 received.

JULY 13, 2013: NOA2 sent back.

AUG 15, 2013: Packet 3 sent in.

AUG 30, 2013: Husband's medical in Berlin.

SEPT 12, 2013: Received letter with husband's interview date!

SEPT 19, 2013: INTERVIEW. APPROVED!!

SEPT 21, 2013: Visa received.

OCT 5, 2013: POE in Newark, NJ (layover).

DEC 17, 2013: SSN Card finally arrived!

DEC 19, 2013: Husband (beneficiary) got his first job in the USA! And he loves it!

DEC 28, 2013: Green card arrived!

FUTURE: Visas for my stepsons!
