Hello VJ er's!

Trying to be patient and also keep a sense of humor during this long, sanity-testing process of obtaining a Fiance Visa. I filed the petition in April 2013. I am noticing almost daily that others are receiving their approvals even though they filed way after I did (am I just jealous?). How do "they" choose, or what is the process for approving one more quickly over another??

I thought my petition was put together "flawless" and the way its described to do on here on VJ. I thought I had an impeccable background and stood out amongst others who have flaws, or issues in their characters or backgrounds, histories etc... Not to brag, but..... I was a 3.8 student in high school and college while obtaining my bachelors degree. I served my country in the US NAVY proudly and left with a honorable discharge. I served my state and community proudly through 21 years of law enforcement, and now live on a very good pension which is more then enough to support a wife and family. I have never had a criminal background, or any form of financial difficulty such as a bad credit rating, foreclosure, bankruptcy etc... I have never been married before and have no children. I guess the worst thing on my record is a speeding ticket in my whole entire life of 54 years. And my one "SIN" in life......I hate to have to admit it.....chocolate!!! Yes, I'm going to hell for that!!

Now for my "lighter" side.....I have never been married, arrested, divorced, or stole a candy bar from Walmart. No children = no child support issues. I have never coveted my neighbors wife or daughter. I have never taken, smoked or inhaled any illegal substance. I have never owed anyone more than I have ever earned, or had enough in my bank account to pay for it. I occasionally but rarely used the words "damn" or the "F" and "B" words. I do "only" go to church once a week instead of the 7 days of the week that the majority of people go. I do vote every election and pay my taxes every year. I did have a garage sale this summer and gave my profits to a needy family instead of depositing them in my bank account. I do cut my grass and plant flowers in my yard. And, I always put out cookies and milk for Santa Claus when he visits my house on early Christmas morning. I guess I need to put out lettuce for the Easter Bunny's annual visit??

OK, you're right.....yes I have lived a boring life (ha, ha). But one thing IS for sure....I love my baby Gina in The Philippines and want to marry her! Met her on-line in September 2012, and lived with her 4 months in Cebu from December till April. I guess I'm just "venting" here, and like previously stated - "jealous" of others, and frustrated at ours not being approved. But yes, I am curious - really am, as to how others get chosen so quickly, and "out of order" over others???? I appreciate your answers and your own thoughts and concerns....fire away!!! And may God bless us all.

Did the adjudicator have time for a coffee run today?

What did they have for breakfast/lunch?

There is no rhyme or reason most of the time. :( I hope you guys hear something soon!

Lol, they don't give preference to the "best" people. Your personal character has little to nothing to do with the process. You aren't approved yet because no one has looked at your packet. It is sitting in a box waiting for adjudication. Adjudication takes only 20 minutes or so, so soon someone will pick up your packet and give you either an approval or a RFE.

This is like picking a line in the grocery store. Once you enter the line things seem even, but then some lines end up going faster than others. There is a nice post from a former adjudicator in the guides somewhere.

AOS for my husband

Completely understand. I'm an early February filer watching March and April pass me up. Ridiculous system. Occupy yourself for the moment because there is literally nothing you can do until 6 months has passed or more. Then you can call USCIS and hope they do thier job.

many things matter for location and routing.

then there's the queue, and your place in it.

Filed just in April of 2013, you say?

And when doing the calendar math, pushing forward 6 months, you're pegged for approval date when?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Ya the waiting sucks... big time! But very soon you will get the text/email and the whole world will change... things will move very quickly then.

I think you do have an issue regarding not putting lettuce out for the Easter bunny... but maybe they will let that slide.

On a serious note: Thank you for your service.

While waiting your fiancée could consider completing her CFO...

Hahaha..Good question!

Same thing came in my mind when our petition was stuck at USCIS for 19 long..agonizing..depressing months before it was approved..Yes, the waiting really sucks...I don't know if USCIS will sort out "sinners and saints" petition in different boxes rofl.gif . I just hope someone will have the balls to ask USCIS and hope that they will give concrete answers too..And c'mon man, you just filed on April this year so don't stress so much thinking about your petition..Hank is right, let your gal attend the CFO seminar first just to kill time.

I'm afraid there really isn't an 'order of approval'.

Everything seems random, but at the same time don't worry: some people on here have waited for waaay longer than that, and I'm pretty sure you can wait up to 5-6 months with the CSC.
I know it sucks, I keep on checking the status of my case every week or so and it's stuck at last month.

You just never know how long it takes for a case to be approved, some take as little as 3 months and some take what seems like a lifetime.

If you'd like you can check this link: http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/monthly_filers.php?form=1&visa=1&scenter=1&option=3&sortby=1 and scroll down to April 2013, to see how many got their NOA2 already.

I feel your pain, we filed in April too... it can be tough and I think the grocery line analogy was a good one... some move faster than others. We too, sent everything but, the kitchen sink. We just have to wait our turn but, hopefully they will put us through soon. Good luck to you and hang in there.

In my opinion, any program (eg USCIS/NVC) that does not have a system for processing matters in place will end up in chaos. Somebody in authority needs to insist and ensure that USCIS and NVC institute a system to effectively and fairly process all Visa application and that way you will get rid of the appearance of arbitrariness and unfairness.

To be perfectly honest there is no such thing as taking petitions in the order that they were received ..they say that but it isn't one ... Period ..... I filed dec5 2012 ... I saw folks who filed in March 2013 get approved before me ... Once you are approved there is another month to 2 month wait before your approved petition goes the national visa center or to your embassy .for a case number .. I am almost hitting the 8th month mark with no interview date... So sit back and ride the wave be sure you and your fiancé stay strong .... It s truly a journey
