Dear All,

Were awaiting K1 Visa interview schedule.

Once its approved, were not gonna used it yet as it is part of our plans. (For one is, my daughter will be celebrating her 7th birthday in my home country on January first then i be going to US).

But we want to meet on September coz its been awhile we want to spend time together.

Im thinking of applying a tourist visa. May i say that i want to visit my fiance and i actually have a fiance visa? then of course if they ask, ill just explain why i am not using it yet....

I want to hear from what you guys think :)

When I had my k1 interview last July 15, 2013 with US Embassy Manila, they cancelled my B1/B2 visa (my 2nd 10 years multiple tourist visa) even before they approved my fiancée visa...I am still waiting for the delivery of my passport and visa...

so stated otherwise, I think you can only have one visa, either a tourist visa or k1 visa/fiancée visa....just my own opinion.

Dear All,

Were awaiting K1 Visa interview schedule.

Once its approved, were not gonna used it yet as it is part of our plans. When you get the K1 visa it will expire so you have to go and get married within that 90 day frame. (For one is, my daughter will be celebrating her 7th birthday in my home country on January first then i be going to US).

But we want to meet on September coz its been awhile we want to spend time together. Let him come visit you

I want to hear from what you guys think smile.png If they already approve you for a fiancé visa why would you apply for a tourist visa they will cancel that tourist visa.

We tried to double up as well with no success. I was told the B-2 is a non-immigrant visa, but the K-1 shows a clear intention to immigrate. The two visa's don;t play well together.

I suggest you ask for a delay of your interview to late August or Sept. You have 6 months to enter the US after approval. That would give you time to stay for the birthday and then travel before the K-1 expires

As a K1 you normally pick your own visa interview date, (some countries do not) so you can have a later date to enable you to do what you want to do. Depending on the country you either have 6 months from visa approval or 6 months from the medical date to move to the USA. Double check this! It's important. If it's from the medical date then you should make sure you do not have your medical too soon.

You can also apply for a tourist visa, but the chances of getting it are very slim. You have immigrant intent.

You could make a post (or a mod could move this if you ask) to the tourist visa section since this is not directly to do with K1 process and procedures. But you have asked some questions and gotten information regarded the K1 process which is why I've left it thus far.
