Yes if you're staying in dorms and that is your permanent residence at the time, you should put it down. Did you get mail there? 4 years is a long time for one spot.

I can't imagine you'd need a separate police certificate, you should only need 1 per country.

Thanks Nikir for ur response.Feel lil bit relaxed now.

R u sure i need just one pcc from my country ?

I thought as i used to live 2 different cities in my country,i might need pcc from those place.

Double check in your regional forum as it may be different for your country. My PCC was good for all of Canada. I've moved 18 times since I was 16, lived in 6 different Canadian cities, (1 in the USA) and in the online form you have to put the exact address of every address and it's for any amount of time, not just 6 months! But I only needed 1 PCC. :)

Could be different for you though.

I moved around a lot too when I was getting settled. I forgot some of my address as I was living there for a brief stay. Would it be fine to leave them out? Or do I need to hunt around and try to find them? And it was short under a few months.

For the DS-230, you only need addresses which you were at for 6 or more months and then just the city and country.

The online forms (DS-260) is a bit different and I do not believe that South Africa qualifies for online forms.

I'm not sure the person reviewing my IV was particularly happy to see 18 moves, 13 different addresses in 7 cities. LOL! But I was the one who had to do all the work to look them up!
