Hi guys,



I got married last May, and my husband is a green card holder, still 8 months to get his citizenship !!! as for me , next month I will be in an exchange visitor program ( J1 visa ) , and I will finish the program by the end of May 2014 ! my question is : what should I do to remain with my husband in the USA ? and what should i do if i come back to my country once i finish the program ?

In August, the PD in the F2a category will be current. It may not be current in later months, so file as quickly as possible in August to adjust your status.

Once you have the I-130 and I-485 filed, you can stay in the US until you get a green card. You will get AP/EAD to allow you to legally work and travel internationally.

If the PD regresses, don't worry. You can renew AP/EAD for as long as you need.
