Hey guys this is what happened with me:

Went to my first marriage interview in 5/10. Had no problem and got my 2/y green card. Filled the I-751 for me & son in 5/12 and send all the evidences. In 4/13 I started calling asking for status. The officer asked for biometrics and I said that we never got a letter asking for. In June I went there to talk in person and they said that was pending and sometimes they don't ask 4 biometrics, went home with no answer. My extended letter experied on 7/15 so i went there on the 13 and got my passport stamped for more 1/y. I called them again asking for update and today I got 2 letters:

first saying they cant fix my issue and transferred my case from Vermont -New Orleans.

Second said I was randomly selected for an interview.

Wich doesn't make sense to me if they can't fix my problem how my case was randomly selected.

Any advise.....

When you got your letter was saying randomly? How was worded?

There is no need to panic at all. The problem they couldn't fix probably is some technical glitch asscoaited with your case, which the local office in New Orlean may be able to take care of during an interview. Interview by itself is not negative and as long as your is genuine marraige, there is absolutely nothing to worry.

I don't think your is a randomly selected case for interview, if they had an issue that they could resolve at Vermont office level. Never the less be cool and look at some of threads in this forum associated with interview and prepare well and you should be fine. All the best.

Hi, Alesantos

I filled my I-751 on february/13, my daughter and I received our extention letter a few weeks later, and the bio appt. for my daughter not for me.

I called USCIS many times asking why I didn't receive my appt. and many times I got the same answer for every officer who attend my call: "I needed to wait for"; but in the last call I said that answer not is sufficient for me and I want to talk with an high level officer, then I spoke with a level 2 officer, and said the answer I got not calm me, and I want to know if I had a problem with my file. The officer tell me it looks ok., and he put a reminder in my file.

A few days later I receive a letter saying that during the next 60-90 days I'll get my bio appt.

Early July I got my bio appt. by July 15.

So, I suggest call USCIS and ask for a level 2 officer, explain it your case and ask for your bio appt., because you need it, in any moment you'll need to do it, I think before you come an interview. Ask everything, and say that you are very worried because you are out of time process.

By other way, speak first with USCIS before you contact a lawyer, depending the answer from officer then you decide if hiring a lawyer or not.

I hope my advice can help you.
