Case referred to Supervisor

I received a checklist 2wks ago to provide proof of my wife's US domicile. However, I had sent in 5 documents already, and based on my last phone call, a quick check by the Supervisor determined that those documents should have been sufficient.

So it was referred to a Supervisor on July 3 and still nothing decided today. Anyone have their case referred to a Supervisor and if so, how long did they take in reviewing?

Hi! I can't answer your question but out of curiosity, what items did you submit to prove your wife's US domicile exactly if you don't mind sharing? I'm very worried about this myself and am trying to figure out if I've submitted enough or if I need to find something else to submit (although I have no idea what.) Thank you!

I had actually received 2 checklists for the exact same thing...the 2nd one was when it was referred to supervisor. Initially, I had sent in a letter from my wife's school, confirming her registration as of Sept. I also sent in an MLS listing confirming that our house was listed for sale. I called into NVC when I received the 1st checklist and they said they don't even consider the school letter a supporting document. So I sent in a letter from her mom saying we're staying with her, plus a letter from Bank of America confirming we opened an account back in April.

I received the 2nd checklist after those documents, so I called in again. The agent asked the supervisor to take a quick look and supervisor said those documents should be sufficient. I certainly hope so, as I have nothing else to provide.

Thank you! Well, if the supervisor actually said that your docs you already submitted should do, that is a very good sign! If they come back asking for more, here are some ideas for you - not sure if any of these apply to your situation or not but thought I'd throw them out there if they'd help you:

Copy of US based drivers license, car insurance, car registration

Copy of statements from US based 401K/retirement savings accounts

Copies of US based credit card bills (I still use my US based credit card for purchases I make here in Canada)

Moving quote from U-Pack with estimate on how much it will cost to move your stuff (this is free and you can get this from upack.com)

Copy of US Certificate of Birth Abroad for any kiddos you may have together

When it gets closer to our interview time, I am going to see about getting pre-approval for a mortgage and having our realtor (my cousin's boyfriend) sign an affidavit saying he's working with us to find a home in the US. I may also get on some waiting lists for daycare for our son in the neighborhood we want to move to in the States. Again, these may or may not apply to you but they're ideas my husband and I came up with after brainstorming.

Man, I can't wait for all of this stuff to be over! smile.png Good luck with your case and I hope someone can help you answer your original question.

It's also a good idea if you're going to be living with family etc, that they draw up a lease or sign a letter saying you're allowed to live there. Job offer letters are even better.

if you have something in for supervisor review

then

you (or the USCitizen Petitioner)

should be calling in, nightly, and inquiring for status,

from the same supervisor that you initiated this with.

Really? I wasn't told the name of the supervisor, so if I call in again and ask to talk to them directly, the agent will transfer me?
