My wifes CR-1 visa case was sent into Administrative processing at islamabad embassy after her interview july 12 2013.

They gave her all the documents back and kept the passport.

They said we need to do some verification before we issue the passport.

They gave her A light green paper 221g.

And gave her a address to where she would need to pick up her passport once there done with processing.

Whats going on?

I talked with the DOS lady today and she was very nice and told me that my case is still in administrative processing but it went from pending to active.

and she also told me that when they need to do some verifications for example they need to verify with my wifes school that she did attend or if they need to verify our marriage certificate they send an inquiry to the ppl responsible for it. and thew delay happens if they dont respond. but if they do then things will move fast.
