I am a retired USAF Veteren. I am beginning the process of US Citizenship for my wife. We have been married for 7 years and she has a full time job. My question is, as a VETEREN do I get any discount on the fees for filing a N-400? I can't seem to find this answer about Vets, just active duty personel. Thank you, I am sure this question has been answered before,

Sorry Reach449, I am an USAF Vet too. There are no discounts for us. The GOV. need the money for their pay raises. That's why they are cutting our benefits and raising our health care premiums.

I can tell you that as active duty, we don't get any discounts. Vets, not sure, but I wouldn't think you get discounts.

USCIS is completely funded off of the fees from petitions and forms FYI.

However, the N400 is at no charge/no fee for permanent residents applying for citizenship who are currently in the military. My wife is in the Air National Guard and this step on her journey cost us nothing. She has her interview and oath both on the same day August 12, 2013 in a special military ceremony in Memphis.
