We were approved for the Fiance Visa and we are able to schedule our Med Exam and Interview. I thought that military records (if applicable) meant, if you served in the military. My fiance is 34 and did not serve. If he has no vaeni bilet, will it be a problem to schedule an appointment and to adjust his status?

Hello, I am new to this and I am hoping someone can answer some of the questions that I have. First of all, my husband is 26 years old Ukrainian..does he need his military card/record for the interview in kiev for cr1/r1? my second question is do the documents he takes to the interview have to be English translated and certified if the original is in Ukrainian?

Also, will he need his own copy of the AOS packet that I am sending to NVC from the states or will they have that at the embassy?

If he is still eligible for the military, then it is a good idea to bring his card. As to documents, if they are Ukrainian then he needs to have them translated into English with a certification from the translator. This is standard for most documents and should not be a problem for him to obtain the certification as many translators are familiar with the process. You will probably want him to have a complete copy of the application, just in case, but the entire file for your application is sent to the embassy in Kiev (Kyiv). So it is not necessary to have a copy unless there are points he is unsure about and reviewing the application may help him clear it up.

Ukraine consulate does not require translations of anything that is in Russian or Ukrainian so you do not need translations for the interview at the consulate.

If you will need to send the documents to USCIS or somewhere else in the US, then they must be translated into English.

My 21 year old stepson had his interview in Kiev recently. They didn't ask him anything about military service. I was surprised...
