What makes somebody want to dress up like a ghoulish outcast. I mean you do know almost everyone that looks at someone like that thinks, Oh Abused Child, Druggie, Mental illness.

Not saying it is always the case but many times is. What would want you to invite that kind of judgement into your life ? I sure you were shunned from a lot of normal society ?

it's a matter of personal taste but mostly teenage angst/rebellion i suppose. in highschool i was friends with everyone, people didn't make fun of me. i know of a few girls who were younger than me that idolized me because i shaved my head. the most trouble or ill will i received when i looked like a "ghoulish outcast" was from school admin and cops. that was a long time ago. what people thought was freakish in this town in the nineties is now considered tame.

if you saw me on the street right now, you'd do a double take, but not because i look like a freak. i dress completely normal. the oddest thing about my dress, is that i normally have all my nails painted black. that's it. but when it comes to music and movies and art and such, i'm a bit darker than most.

if someone looks at another and shuns them for how they are dressed or because they use too much black eyeliner or have metal all jacked up in their face..f them. who cares? they're probably sh*tty people. some of the most genuine people i've known have looked like freaks, but they'd do anything to help another person in need. that's what you should judge people by..character.

I'm a bit leery of people who dress either to get attention or to make society pay. Seems like they're too into themselves. Like they have to take it upon themselves to make the world wake up or something. I dunno, I guess I just don't care about people's little crusades. I suppose there are any number of reasons to dress any number of ways. It just always comes off as an attention thing to me.
