Called the NVC today, they said my case is complete and they will schedule an interview shortly. My wife will be interviewing at the Islamabad embassy. Does anyone have any idea as to when the interview may potentially be?

Also, I know my attendance at the interview us not required, but would it help in any way? Our case has progressed fairly quickly, so I can't imagine any major issues.

Lastly, will my wife potentially receive the visa the day of the interview, or is there a waiting time?

Congratulations I have added you to the Case Complete Interview thread. You are in the interview queue for September. So maybe September. I know a coupe on list didn't get August so they are ahead of you.

Your other questions I will leave for others from your country since its country specific.

@L37:

I went and attended the interview...not sure how much it helped - but my being there, helped my wife and I gather and organize all our proof of relationship documents and basically gave her moral support.

No problems with you as the petitioner being present - you may not be allowed to be AT the actual interview itself - but you will be allowed in the embassy and into the waiting rooms with her.

If she is approved, then the visa/passport will be kept and mailed within a few days - expect upto a week to 10 days though.

You will be asked to leave a contact number - they will call you - and then when you collect the passport there is a fee of 850Rs.

The visa stamp is good for 6 months - you should enter in that period - once you POE - and its endorsed by the IO then it serves as a temporary green card...until you get your plastic card.

Hope this helps - if you have any questions, please send us a PM.

Genesis 2:22-24
Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called 'woman, ' for she was taken out of man." For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.

I agree! i have yet to come up with solid evidence about being at the interview help or not, but if you can afford the cost, it is completly worth it. Good luck!
