hi all..

we are using an attorney for k1 visa. we have gotten noa2 since july 15. i know uscis is proccessing our documents to NVC.

my questions are:

1. Will NVC ask to petitioner for sending any kind of forms?

2. is there RFE in NVC?

3. does anybody know how long it will take from uscis through nvc and nvc through embassy?

thanks

Answers:

  1. No, the NVC is only a mail stop for K1 cases (a case number is assigned to the file and the file is subsequently shipped to the appropriate post abroad).
  2. See answer #1
  3. Previous K1 filers and current K1 filers who have cleared this stage can answer this question better.

In our case, from NOA1 until Jakarta Embassy received our packet took about 2 weeks. Also, keep in mind major holiday approaching in early August (Eid al-Fitr/Lebaran), you may experiencing delay in processing once your packet reach Jakarta.

For all other tips regarding Indonesia's applicant. You can take a look,

You can call NVC to check on your case. With you being a K1 they will give you a new case number. Your case can be at NVC from 2 -6 weeks. The people were very nice when I called them to check our case status. You can call everyday if you wish :)

Good Luck to you!

It took a month for me to get Packet 3 by email and the email contains the Case Number.

Just be patient, the embassy will email your fiancé first to get the updated info of you then the embassy will email you the packet 3 :)
