Advance Parole

We have recently filed our initial AOS package. Now we realize that it may be necessary for my wife to return to her home country soon, due to an university situation. How quickly can you get an Advance Parole. Is there an urgent Advance Parole and how is it best to get this?? Can you get this through a local office and how long does it take?

did you apply for AP with your AOS?? If Not then I guess you cant leave the country until you got a decision??? and if you did apply for AP with your AOS then please stay put and see what comes out?? you dont need to rush these guys?? stay put?? Also maybe someone will say more to what i know??

I have heard of others going to a local office for 'emergency' AP - like a death in the family. You could try doing an infopass (it didn't sound like you had an emergency like a death from your post). I would assume if you have already applied for it maybe they can tell you the status or help speed it up if you have a 'genuine' reason. Good Luck

If you did have a death in the family or there was a severe illness to an immediate member of your family and you could prove that you filed for an advanced parole (receipt), then wouldn't they let you back into the US?

Apply now for AP. Get congressional and senatorial help. Give them dates of travel.
