Then it fit the legal standard.

What's the problem? I understand you guys on here are all ticked off because "pu$$y @$$ George Zimmerman" was getting beat up by "poor little Trayvon." But what you're forgetting is condemning GZ also condemns grandma in the wheel chair when thugs try to steal her purse. It disables our wives from defending themselves against bigger and stronger men.

Simply put, the law is in place to protect the threatened. Changing that just because GZ is a bit of a b!tch sets in motion a slew of unintended consequences. Do you really want a woman pushing a baby stroller to have the duty to flee from those who would do her harm?

How about if you can't fight and you have a gun, don't go looking for a bad situation and mke it worse.

I don't have a problem if you have a gun for protection. I applied for my FOID card a week ago, because when we move off base I would like to have something to protect my wife and kids since folks don't fight anymore. When it comes, I will get something simple and easy to use.

What you don't understand is I don't want folks to lose the right to carry a gun. Having a gun doesn't give you the right to be a bad a$$ to someone who isn't armed so you can shoot them when you get wore out.

Not saying TM was justified in his actions, but it's not like he turned around and simply started wailing on the guy as soon as he saw him.

How do you know that?

How do you know that?

Because from every account, even GZ's, that's not what happened. Ms. Jeantel said TM was walking away from the confrontation when GZ caught up to him. GZ said he was walking back and looking at street signs when TM walked up behind him, asked him did he have a problem and then hit him. No where did it say he tried to talk to him and he just started swinging on him.

He knew he was being followed and asked why. And GZ had a chance to answer.

I must have missed that part in all this. Not saying it didn't happen, I just don't recall seeing that as part of the evidence.

The girl who was on the phone with TM testified that it happened. She could be lying, I suppose, but that's a pretty tame conversation to make up.

Even if that conversation never happened, GZ never claims that TM started attacking him as soon as he was noticed following him.

I agree with you. However, there were no injuries to TM except the gunshot, and there were injuries to GZ. So that in itself kinda shows who "threw the first punch"

IF TM was 12 GZ would have still gotten a beating and shot a 12 year old.

I'm starting to think you're here to simply run up your post count. You can do that quicker and easier over in the games forum.

I don't believe GZ was out looking for a confrontation.

This is why so many folks wanted GZ to testify. What little we do actually know is heresay and rumors, but there is one constant; GZ, never at any time during the initial or even first meeting, tried to diffuse the situation. He never identified himself, he never said what he wanted or what the purpose of him following TM was. He was a random stranger who just started following TM for no reason other than he was walking around looking about, his own words.

So based on your post, it sounds like not guilty was the correct verdict.
