I have two things to say to the OP:

1. Please do read what Emma Goldman had to say about women and marriage. She wrote this in 1917.

Remember women were not yet persons in the eyes of the law nor could they vote (in the U.S.)

And yes i posted this in a Canadian Forum thread

http://womenshistory.about.com/library/ete...rriage_love.htm

2. Men live longer, are healthier, and happier according to polls, where for women, it's the opposite.

They fair way better to live with other women communally.

Here, pick one and read for yourself:

PS What a horrible article from the OP and ridiculous study.

Misogynistic!

Hmph.

Please direct your rage at economists Lena Edlund and Evelyn Korn (both women,

incidentally) who published their paper in the Journal of Political Economy,

a well-respected economics journal.

Want to live even longer? Get a second wife. New research suggests that men from

polygamous cultures outlive those from monogamous ones.

After accounting for socioeconomic differences, men aged over 60 from 140 countries

that practice polygamy to varying degrees lived on average 12% longer than men

from 49 mostly monogamous nations, says Virpi Lummaa, an ecologist at the

University of Sheffield, UK.

Women can be misogynists, just like men can be feminists.

True.

That is funny about polygamy...and so interesting.

Hey, I have always said, "I want a wife."

In the classic sense of the meaning of that word. (Someone to take care of me, cook for me, and sew for me....)

This idea of mine came about when I was just a kid and watching the behaviour and what older woman were telling me about marriage.

They did not find my declarations (any of them) too amusing.

Hahaha!

I am by no means typical...tee, hee.

BTW a while ago I met a group that all lived together (men and women, 4 of each)...kinda married to all of the others.

They made it work, somehow.

There sure are tons of way to live.

Alternatives.

Choices.
