First , after my Fiancee arrived in the US we went to the Social Security Office and apply for a Social Security Card which she received 7 days after applying for it. We Got married on may 24th and on June 15th we went back to the Social Security Office to change her name. Her I-94 was to expire July 3rd.

We just got a letter today from Social Security stating they could not verify her status let alone find her in the system. The letter also said Homeland Security could not verify her status either. But when we applied initially they were able to verify her.

What should we do, wait until after the aos has been filed or should we called USICS to see what the issue is. We will be applying for AOS in August.

On all her forms I filled out for the AOS I have used her SSN #, should I include a copy of her card in case there is a question about it.

Any assistance would be helpful.....

It doesn't matter in the slightest. File for AOS in the married name. Her SSN will still be the same number and she can use it with the old name on it. Go and change the name once you have her EAD.

Or go and fight with them about it, but it really doesn't matter.

AOS for my husband
