I think if anyone wants to make a lifetime change with being active, they have to primarily integrate it into their daily routine. The reality is we're all sitting on our duffs right now, in front of our glowing monitors which burns very little calories. A sedentary lifestyle requires making up for it with exercising at a gym if nothing else. :star:

I've been going to the gym every work-day morning since the beginning of July for an hour and have lost a total of six pounds! Grrrrr

I wsa having this problem and went to see a personal trainer (just a few appointments) and she changed the way I was exercising and it made a big difference!

I gained a few pounds when I moved to LA from London -- I never walk as much as I used to (plus I re-discovered my love of burgers). I now try to walk a mile during lunch every day -- it has really helped.

I used to shake my head whenever my Mom would park somewhere towards the back of a parking lot. She'd rarely take an elevator and when she walked it was always in a brisk pace. It's those little things can make a huge difference in keeping an active lifestyle. On the downside - now whenever I'm walking with others, I'm always having to stop and wait for them to catch up. :P

Everyone walks so slow in the bit of America I am moving to. That is, the ones who do walk....

I'm a really speedy walker. But I live in London, so everyone tends to walk very fast here. Good way to stay fit. I run up the tube escalators too.

Three or four times a week, sometimes five, I go work out at our local "HealthPlex"

First, I spend between 45-60 minutes on cardio-machines, the treadmill and elliptical trainers, usually doing about 4-5 miles combined total per session on those...

Then I hit the weights... I do 6 machines x 30 reps x 80 lbs for a total of 14,400 lbs

Then I come home and eat.... ;)
