Conservatives donate more than Liberal

Did anyone watch 20/20 last night and notice how they discovered that conservatives donate more than liberals? Conservatives also volunteer more of their time for other people / charities. Yet 'apparently' liberals like Paris Hilton are for the people.

They actually conducted a test where they setup a charity box outside a department store in Chicago and also another outside a department store in a conservative city. Not to my surprise they received double the donations from the conservative city, than Chicago. That is even though the highly liberal people of Chicago earn twice the average salary of the conservative city.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Interesting article I just saw linked from Gupt.

Funny how the usual liberal VJ crowd are always lost for words when it comes to stuff like this.

It comes down to basic differences between liberal and conservative. Liberals think the government should take care of you (i.e. tax the rich), conservatives think that private institutions should help those that need it.

 Conservatives believe charity should be given out of free will, and it isn't something owed to the recipient. Liberals believe the recipients are entitled to other people's money, so it is appropriate to take it by force, i.e., legalized theft.

Your right. I think it's a fundamental difference between conservatives and liberals. This mentality also applies to aid, employment, health, safety, quality of living etc..

I think it's up to every individual to help others. That shows one's true character and level of compassion for others.

Personally I have wasted quite a bit of money over the years on travel, on cars, in clubs, clothes, electronics etc... I tell you what though, nothing gives you the satisfaction and enjoyment you get when you help someone.

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

My conscious is clear. I just think it feels good to help others. I don't like it forced on me by punitive taxes though.

I didn't think you would say anything logical or constructive.

So which current 'charities' that the federal government provides to people do you think we should do away with?

Welfare for one. Nothing wrong with a short term help for someone that's down but as a way of life it sucks.

The moral of the story here is that your average liberal/s lecture and blog a bunch of BS about being for the people, for the average Joe, for the poor etc. In reality they solely look after their own ### yet make it out as if Republicans represent money, corporations and greed.

Con of the century..

That's hardly scientific. What is this unnamed "Conservative City"? How can you be sure the people donating in one box were conservative and the other liberal?

Oh, I'm sorry, I used the "S" word. Xtian conservatives don't like that word, just like they don't like the "E" word.
