I actually clicked the slurs link after seeing the "K" entry because after reading it had its roots in the Ellis island on-boarding I thought surely there must be a slur for those of Irish descent as they were the recipients of a lot of hatred back in the day.. and there was a "W" word for it.

I didn't like it back then, but in light of what's on TV now, I would love for it to come back.

I miss shows like Married with Children, Martin, Cheers, Night Court, hell give me All in the Family.

TV has went to cr@p...All those were good shows. I use to love Sanford and sons and Chico and the man...but that would be too controversial to even get on TV.

I remember when Star Trek had the first black woman on as part of the cast and she wasn't a maid. It was a shocker back then. And people believe that discrimination is so far in the past? I mean come on.

Rush Limbaugh's claim that it's acceptable for him to say "#######" -- with the "a" at the end -- because some African-Americans have used that derivation of the racial slur drew strong criticism from several black journalists and commentators who called him "harsh" and a "bully."

You heard it here first. If blacks didn't take this word and make it "ours" we wouldn't have this problem. Makes me sick.

I don't understand it and I'm black. We don't demand a color blind society, you can recognize someone by their color, just treat them as equals.

Folks from Africa have their own racial slurs to contend with, I'd doubt the n word is in the top 5.

I know, it's frustrating that I try to speak for my people and then they go and do some stupid stuff that sets us back 60 years.

I find it also funny that white folks keep trying to say the word. Personally I want them to, go to the urban neighborhoods and try to have this argument. See how far it gets you.
