I had money back then to process different petition...hehe no, just kidding...cause if I file I-130 for my son, he will be automatically be a U.S. citizen when he enters in U.S. as immigrant.

Is he your biological son? Were you a USC when he was born? If yes, then you can't petition a visa for him you need to do the CRBA.

Complicated...supposed to be citizen already on 2001, when I first got here in U.S. but I didn't get my passport to prove it. Actually, I already did petition him and is set for interview (=

Well good luck with all!

Pay stubs are not requested. They sometimes are suggested when a person has started a new job within a few months of the interview.

The embassy only requires the most recent tax return and W-2, as long as your income shown on these at least meets the poverty guidelines of the I-864P you should be good.

they don't give it....they need letter from embassy...anyone here tried to get the nbi letter of explanation please

You may want to email/call the embassy about that. Here is what is listed in the the Embassy Instructions Letter.

d. NBI CLEARANCE (Green Form). Applicants aged 16 years and older must have a valid Record
Clearance (for travel abroad purposes) from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). Clearances should
be in the applicant’s current name, birth certificate name, maiden name and any aliases or nicknames used,
including different spellings you have used of those names. An official letter of explanation from the
NBI is required for any notation of “No criminal record” or "No pending case”. For immigration
purposes, an NBI clearance is valid for one (1) year from the date it was issued. The NBI website is

When we went through the interview in Sept 2013 we had a 221(g) for a "Letter of Explanation" from NBI. We knew what the circumstances were and we had the documentation/court papers that showed that all cases were dismissed and therefor she had a clean NBI. The next day after the interview she went to the NBI there in Manila and tried to have the documents entered and a letter given to her so she could return to the embassy and not have to return from Mindanao and wait for the appointment from NBI.

Well, you can imagine that the NBI said, nothing we can do till we get the request from USEM. So back to Mindanao to wait. Once she received the NBI appointment she flew back to Manila, attended the meeting, was cleared of all items and a letter was sent back to USEM noting the same. Two weeks later we see CEAC goes to ISSUE..... 1967.gif 1969.gif

thank you both...I really appreciate for sharing your experience with "letter of explanation" - from what I understand, she has to set interview date, she will be pending for the "letter of explanation" wait for the letter from nbi and attend the nbi meeting. She don't have to do anything but wait? usem and nbi will do the process...sending the form and all that...

how long was the process since the interview date?
