From here, it says you can show the NVC letter containing the beneficiary's name and MNL# . Some have reported here that they have taken the medical without showing the appointment letter, but you might want to check with SLEC just to be sure: They will not look for the visa app receipt.

After a successful medical, SLEC will release DS-3025 with info about immunizations acquired and date of medical exam. This will then determine the validity of your fiancee's medical for AOS.

It is possible to do the medical without having paid the visa fee, even though SLEC will ask for your interview date. Do you have the letter from NVC with the MNL # ? You can email NVC to request the MNL # as that will give you a correspondence that SLEC will accept.

Read the St. Luke's website for their requirements.

Yes you could get the medical before paying the K1 visa fee but why would you want to do that? She should pay the visa fee and schedule her interview first. Then fill out the DS-160 and then have her medical done 2-4 weeks before the interview.

They give you a copy of the medical to bring to the US.

ty sweetcakes, hanks & steveema for clarifying - yeah she got the letter from the NVC witht he MNL #...hopefully that one works cause the one from your site hanks is to bring the one after registering online when visa is paid....

steveema - hehe to be honest...its not that I want...I don't have cash for her visa fee yet and they're going to manila so might as well get medical first...

the nvc letter letter has an expiration date from the day it is approved...validation for 4 months? is that right?

Actually the letter that has the expiration date is the NOA2 letter. Yes it is valid for 4 months but can be extended. The medical is valid for 6 months. Also I think that as soon as you do the medical the clock starts for her to come to the US.

it's the one from embassy, i don't think its the NOA2...could you tell me how to extend it? she still has estafa pending case...

The instructions on the SLEC website is to bring either the NVC letter or the interview confirmation letter. Most get the interview scheduled before doing the medical.

oh I see...I thought it was for the IR and CR one but uhmm about the form I-134 for affidavit of support, I only provide the > W-2 together with the 1040EZ form < will that be enough? I only had 27k for my income of last yr...

My bad here.... I just looked at your timeline, you are an IR-2 (I-130) visa or is that wrong and you are a K-1? Requirements are very different for that visa.

OK here comes the silly question. Why isn't your son on the I-129F petition and being processed as a K-2 right along with you?
