NBI clearance is not needed when filing the I-129F petition.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

apple21 - yeah, a motion filed but it takes 3 months for the court to get the result

Hank - the IR-2 is for my son, what does it mean NBI for travel abroad? I haven't started the K-1 visa yet cause I thought NBI clearance would be needed when filing it...

Ahhh! You are very busy, don't bang into yourself coming and going!

When requesting the NBI simply tell the person behind the counter it is for travel abroad (they may ask if its for a visa, many times that is what they type on the report then - no issue), it needs to be the green NBI not the yellow one.

I sent the package that is listed from http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide - is there any payment that I should be aware of? idea9dv.gif the package was sent last month, when would be the expected date that the NBI clearance is needed? it's really pressuring me since the case is still on going ( you know how jurisdiction in Philippines work ) even if it can be done in the same day, it just take time... *sigh* any suggestion on how to bypass this matter since this case is 10 yrs old and she was not 18 at that time (but she was already 16) the case is not really for her but conspiracy from parents so their names are listed.

@Hank - I got a mail from embassy with MNL#, but I haven't receive for St. Luke's appointment. How can you have an appointment for St. Luke? on your website, it says have an appointment for interview once the MNL is there...should I do that even without an appointment for St. Luke?

St. Luke's is first come - first served, you can pre-register on the SLEC website but there are no appointments. Both the embassy instructions letter and St. Luke's website state this, plus the St. Luke's website list what they require you to bring.

Good luck

Yup, just bring the required documents and pesos and she can do the medical.

Follow the flashing arrow below this post, then click on the St. Luke's tab

what else is needed for the interview aside from >> http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide << it didn't even say you need to bring NBI clearance/Police clearance...

and at St. Luke, is it okey to get medical without paying the K1 visa fee yet? the one that cost 240

The guides here in VJ for K-1 are pretty general and is basically for preparing I-129 package and post POE. Once NVC sends your file to the specific consulate which has jurisdiction over your case, the requirements will then be country specific. In our case, it's the US Embassy in Manila (USEM).

Have you checked out Hank's very helpful link? http://visaconnection-philippines.com/#

USEM K1/K2 requirements: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/manila/325288/packets/K1%20and%20K2%20Interview%20Preparation%20Instructions%20-%20English%20_updated%2004%20Feb%202014_.pdf

Good luck! smile.png

p.s. Btw, you might want to start a new topic for new questions in the future, Mustangers. It's free anyways. wink.png

Yes, immunizations are included during the SLEC medical. For AOS, the medical is valid for 1 year. Don't forget to check out Hank's link for details. smile.png
