Visa Status Check Confusion

Hi everyone, hope I can get some help here

Today, I had checked the status of our K-1 Visa on the US. Dept. of States's website.

To my knowledge, a K-1 is a Non Immigrant Visa right? When entering our case number using the NIV selection, it says that our case number is invalid.

Here is my confusion.....when you select the Immigrant Visa (IV) selection, it says that our status is ready for us to schedule an interview at the Manila US Embassy.

My fiance has not received a packet yet with instructions, or anything.

I called the Embassy earlier today, and was basically told to wait for this "packet" to arrive with instructions. Not very encouraging to say the least, since they gave me no information on if they had received anything at all.

Has anyone experienced the same, or does anyone know what this means? Are we actually ready to scedule the interview?

K1 fancee visa belongs to immigrant visa when you check its status.....so when you enter your case to immigrant visa...it will tell you the status of your case...so as you said its ready then its ready.....dont check it on non immigrant visa it would give you invalid ...hope it helps...

Thank you very much for the reply. I will have my fiance call the Embassy today, to see if she can get any further with them. As I stated in the original post, they won't tell me anything on the phone. Just wait for packet to arrive is all.....
