Hello all,

Just shy under a year of this immigration process, we got notified that her interview will be on Aug 13th!!! From reading the reviews and actually calling the embassy, IF she gets her visa, it's usually the same day. Or at most 2 days. August is fast approaching and my plans were completely shot down at work to go over there, interview with her, and guide her back to the States; due to low manning (life in the military ranting33va.gif ). Her english is good enough to get by, but not perfect. Her travels in Europe have only dealt with small airports with very simple immigration checks. But we are both confident she can make it on her own.

Now, I know it's not recommended to start buying tickets just yet. I've only bought tickets online through the generic websites such as travelocity, hotels.com, expedia etc... Does anyone have any tips concerning buying them now? I might be wrong since I never had to do it, but can I reschedule a flight for a later date? (incase she does get denied) Do you have any recommendations on WHERE to buy one? Do I myself have to plan accordingly to make sure she goes through a port of entry......or are all airports in the States, where she lands first, a port of entry? That question comes from my understanding of airports.

I've spent a lot of time and energy researching the parts of getting her visa.......I just now started on what happens AFTER she gets one. So, from what I've learned so far; She will be getting a visa packet along with her visa in her passport. That packet is to be given to immigrations at the airport she land in?

Will she go through another interview? Requiring evidence?

Thank you all for the help on this. This website has thought me and other friends with foreign spouses all the info to get through this process. My wife and I have had enough on being separated for so long (difficult for me to take leave). We both just want to be together as soon as humanly possible....

i would recommend she chase after some cheapo budget airline that puts her in Dublin,

then you can look at flights online from Dublin through to yer city.

I'd suggest to just wait, that's what I'm doing and won't hit the buy button until passport in hand. If you are impatient then purchase a refundable ticket. The incremental cost vs. non-refundable ticket is your cost for wanting to have everything finalized. I'd suggest to use kayak.com to research which airline would work best or from Romania I always fly with Lufthansa.

TAROM airlines sometimes has special deals through travel agents as well, so ask yer wife to talk with some agents, face to face.

Routing [bucarest, Germany, NYC]
