Hi everyone.

I am new to this forum. I am desperate and in need of any of your advices and information to share. I came here on a k1 visa and got married before the 90 day time frame. However, me and my husband were starting to have issues and he started to verbally abuse me. Then it gradually became worse and he started choking me and the last straw, punched me in the face.

I don't have any police records or documentation that involved law enforcements, no medical records whatsoever. What I do have tho are couple videos of me documenting myself with what had happened and a statement from a friend that I stayed at for couple days one night when he threw me out of the house. I didn't call the cops on him because I cared for him and I didn't want him to loose his job. Also, I was afraid to call the cops.

Each time we fought he would hide the cellphone that he gave me and would shut of the services. I don't have any evidence that I lived with him aside from pictures and one letter sent in my name to our address from an insurance company. He never shared any info to me about any bills or my name was never on any bills or properties. He also send gross email messages to my mother at the time I was still living with him, telling my own my mom that she was hot! And sending my mother emails like " How much for a bag of weed?" And sent my entire family and friends email that I have herpes and Stds and how he would post personal pictures and videos of me online.Would that be enough to prove that he has a real bad charcter? He always calls me name. The worse ever in the book! He never sent in my AOS application. I don't have a SS number because he never took me to get one.

Do I have a chance to get approve on a VAWA application?

What evidences can I gather? And is that a great impact that I do not have police records or medical records?

I lived with him for 8 months more or less.

Anything would greatly help me. I am distraught and don't know what to do.

Thanks so much.

Without proof, you are going to have a hard time proving your case.

It's okay to claim he is a wife beater to the US Government to get a green card, but you don't want to hurt him by calling the police? That doesn't make sense. Why only tell some authorities in Washington DC about his abuse but hide it from the local police authorities who can actually help?

You need more documentation of abuse. Your fried is not a reliable third party; she's your friend who the authorities will believe has reasons to lie for you.

You need documents about the abuse from the police and/or hospital.

Thank you for your reply aaron2020. What I meant was I didn't file any police reports or called the cops that time because I didn't want him to get in trouble and loose his job even after what was going on that time. And I was scared.
