Ahh, ok. USCIS is NBC for our purposes now. NVC is next authority. I suggest you read the guide because it's really quite enlightening: http://www.visajourney.com/content/i130guide1

Whole chain is:

(1) lockbox->MSC (called NBC now)->local uscis office ------)> (2) NVC -----)> (3) US embassy in the other country

The USCIS stage is where you are at.

Your Service Center: National Benefits Center (acronym is NBC - will show up on your NOA1 as your MSC###############) You are NOT adjusting status unless you are already in the USA so change your profile to say : IR1/CR1 Visa (like mine.)

You are waiting for NOA2... Notice of action 2. The notification that says you're approved or denied the petition. You have to wait for this. It normally takes 6 months. After 6 months, then your husband can call the USCIS and ask what is going on.

If you want to, you can get ready for the next stage after the NOA2 if it says approved.

See you are at the USCIS and then the next stage is the NVC (National Visa Center). This is when you apply for your visa! Get together the documents you need to to send to the NVC. Yours is the "IV packet" (IV - Immigrant Visa). I know there is a lot of acronyms.

Thanks.. Wow very helpful im so tired of waiting... So I need to get ready to deal w NVC... I thought id have to deal with the american consulate here in Brazil next so there is still one more step befor going to the american consulate?

wow if u got ur i130 in like 157 days im almost there cuz it has been 139 days not counting today... were u in china while he applied for u in américa???

Another question if/when im approved does my process go straight to the consulate or to the NVC THEN it goes to consulate? cuz ive gone to the consulate to ask them about what happens when the package arrives at the consulate and the things they ask for the interview exactly what the NVC will ask for...

The total time that elapsed from the time I filed the petition to the time she arrived was approximately 7.5 months. We lived apart during that time.

Don't expect that timeframe for your file; it was fortuitous timing that I-130 petitions were being adjudicated quickly be the Service Center in California at the time that I filed. Now, I-130 petitions are being adjudicated at local offices and times on when a decision is made vary from office to office. I've also read reports of how some local offices bundle approved petitions and send them off at the same time to the NVC, so an approved petition can be sitting idle waiting to be sent.

I go back every 3 or 4 months, stay for a month or two.

New question when i do go to the NVC step do i qualify for the online ds-260?? cuz signing and sending the ds-230 by mail doesnt seem fast for me

US Embassy Brazil, IV Unit, does not participate in Electronic Processing or Electronic Forms, so no, no DS-260 for you.

Hint - when the I-130 is approved, send off stuff for the DS-230 set to yer husband, along with a DS-3032.

Not at this time; use of electronic forms is currently unavailable for Brazil cases.

one more question does anyone know if you have 2 sponsors if you need to file 2 forms and pay the fee twice??
