Just want to let you all know to stay educated to what you need after the wedding. Me and my Wife is working on her adjustment of status and found most Civil Surgeons are trying to rip off people with K-1 Visa's. We have learned it is a problem across the country. Most of them will claim you have to do the full Medical again as well as blood work and TB tests.Of course they will want big money. They were trying to charge us as much as $575. For K-1 Visa you do not have to do none of that anymore and I'm sure some other visas has well. Just be prepared to call around until you find one that is not a crook. We called about 10 and the one we went to still tried to run a blood test which we said no we don't need it. Just be prepared don't get ripped off like so many are. All the Doctors play dumb and act like they expect you not to know the facts. I wish they would be more careful about who they approve to be a Civil Surgeons.

If your wife came with k1 visa, why do you need to go to a civil surgeon? She should had her medical results already, otherwise she wouldn't be here. Unless the USCIS sends a request, the ONLY thing you need to send along with the AOS package, regarding the medical results, is the copy of her vaccination record signed by the civil surgeon who performed her test back then. That's it. I came here last year with my k1 and I only sent that, I never step in ANY civil surgeon office here in the US. I was approved without interview and no RFE

I saw a civil surgeon who seemed uneasy about just transcribing my vaccinations, but had no problem with it. He even waived the full fee. I think I only had to pay $50. He also told me that if it came back stating that I did indeed need the full medical, that he would not charge me a second time for the portion he already did, and would only charge me the remaining cost of the medical. Thankfully, I didn't need to go back :)

I had read stories about them not accepting the vaccination record, so I wanted to have my vaccinations transcribed onto the new medical form just in case (send in both parts). I also had my flu shot before AOS, which I didn't need for my medical as it wasn't flu season at the time. Since it was flu season when I moved, I just wanted to prove I had it done in case they said I needed it. (Though, I wound up in the hospital due to an allergic reaction to something in the shot...so not fun! If I had of known I was allergic I would have gotten the civil surgeon to note that).

ohhhh I see your point! Yes definetely it happened. Is not becayse they dont accept the vaccination record itself, its because mostly are mark as "incomplete" even when it is obviously complete (otherwise, we wouldnt be here :)) in some cases they send and rfe just for that :S . In the worst scenario, the USCIS lose the k1 package and they send you a request asking for a new set of results, but thats extremely bad luck. I came here also in the flu season, and got my flut shot at Walgreens but I already sent my AoS package when that happen. I was aware of what are yiu saying but I wasnt too worry about it. And nothing happened in the end. But from your point of view sounds like a good idea to be a step ahead :) :) kudos!

We had to have her vaccinations transcribed. Plus she needed one booster shot. I wish we would not have had to go to a civil surgeon. We both got very upset because we knew they were trying to rip us off. They wanted her to do the full medical again so they could make more money. Some of these doctors here are all about the money and nothing more. I even got into a argument on the phone with one guy. But its behind us now. I just don't want anyone to get ripped off.

If she was missing a vaccination, then yes, she needed to find a civil surgeon that would not insist on a new medical. You have to call around and it can be a hassle for sure.

If she had all the required shots and just needed another one in a series, then she did not need to see a civil surgeon. One is a series of vaccinations is all that is required for AOS > http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/428381-i-693-report-of-medical-examination-and-vaccination-report/?p=6206232

Genesis 2:22-24
Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. The man said, "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called 'woman, ' for she was taken out of man." For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.
