Any chance to move interview date earlier?

What are folks experience with moving an interview date at the Moscow embassy earlier? We needed to make a change to add my fiancees son to her appointment and they forced us to change to an interview date 3 weeks later because our original appointment could not be recycled because it was "not a two person appointment slot". This is causing a big problem because her son will miss the first week or two of school. I've promised her I'll try to reschedule yet again for an earlier date but I don't know if that is really possible or not. Do we have a chance of moving earlier or are we out of luck?

Well the embassy got back to me very quickly but they just passed me back to usatraveldocs who apparently handles all their scheduling now, no exceptions.

Well good news, a bunch of new August dates popped up as available today so I grabbed one earlier in the month. For some reason it looks like they release dates late in a month first and only later release dates earlier in the month. I noticed that when we made the reservation for the original late-July date, there were only dates late in the month but a few days later I noticed that many earlier dates suddenly became available.
