I am on the process of preparing all the documents needed to bring my parents here in the US and found out that my mother's middle name which is Jabines while on my birth certificate it is Javines. The same thing on their marriage certificate she used Jabines not Javines. Do you think we will have problem with this? Do we have to get it corrected or should I just leave it that way? If I have to get it corrected, how long is the wait to get it fix? Please I need your help, whoever have the same problem with me please share your experienced. Your help is very much appreciated.

If you are planning to file a petition for them, all information on your birth certificate must match the one she has on her birth certificate.

Mine was all chaotic before I filed a petition for my parents. My case was, my mom's BC is totally different from what's on my BC, FIRST AND MIDDLE NAME ARE ALL WRONG. They have to make corrections at the NSO and it took about 6-7 months to get a corrected birth certificate. Here's what u should do, since that's a minor typo, If I were u, file a petition and at the same time, your folks should file typo corrections at the NSO.
