Does joint-sponsorship work any differently with I-864 than it does with I-134?

Can I-864 be filed JUST using the income of the joint sponsor? I have read that no matter how much or little I am contributing as the petitioner, I am still considered the primary sponsor. What happens when the primary sponsor is unemployed at the time of the filing? Is it a non-issue if the joint sponsor does meet all the requirements?

You do not need the I-864 until you AOS. You have plenty of time to read up on it. :D

Filed: Citizen (apr) Country: Mexico
Timeline

The USC petitioner and the co-sponsor will each fill out an I-134 unless your consulate specifically requests an I-864. The incomes of the petitioner and co-sponsor are not combined. The co-sponsor needs enough income to meet the requirement for their own household size plus the foreign fiance(e).

If the USC petitioner is unemployed, then they will state that on the form and put $0 for the income.

I know :) I am just anticipating the future a bit because although I am working full-time now, it is looking like by the time we are ready to AOS I will not be. So I wanted to know if there is a problem if I, as the primary sponsor, put down $0 for current income if my joint sponsor makes enough. Thanks for your help! :)
