Hi just wondering , would the US embassy (specifically Manila) let you go on your interview without having done your medical and CFO seminar? The reason for this question is, my husband and I didnt anticipate that our interview will be scheduled first week of August (AUG 6) .. We're kind of expecting it sometime around 2nd week to the end of the month so we were quite suprised. My husband is currently still in Saudi Arabia and had resigned already at his company, but their not releasing his papers/documents/passport until the end of July. He is scheduled to fly back to Philippines on Aug 1 (Thurs). He can try going to St.Lukes for medical the next day after arriving..but as I understand it is a 2 day process..so he'll probably will need to come back for his 2nd day exam on a Monday already ( One day away for interview). Im kinda nervous that he wont be able to go thru interview without gettin the result of his medical first. Please can someone who have some input on this is very much appreciated. Im really freaking outcrying.gif

Based on the instruction letter sent by the USEM, visa applicant must undergo medical exam at least 1 week before the date of interview.

If time is not enough, he can reschedule his date of appointment with the embassy.

You can do your interview without the medical file at the embassy, in fact a Filpina just did her interview only to find out her medical was not there yet so she was issued a 221g stating they are waiting for the medical file and once it arrived and all is good then they will issue the visa.

So yes your husband can complete the interview, but you will receive a 221g stating they need to receive and review the medical file before approval.

You can also call USEM to get the interview rescheduled. The delay may be longer if you reschedule (just my opinion).

I would keep the interview date, start the medical on that Friday, complete it on Monday and keep moving. Its possible they will have your husband hand carry the medical file... possible not a given.

As for CFO that is a Philippines requirement, not a visa requirement, so you can do that after the visa arrives.

Embassy (Manila) Phone Number (and email)

local number: 632-301-2000 extension 5184 or 5185,

(632) 982-5555 or (632) 902-8930.

** (214) 571-1600 or (646) 254-3546 (these are USA numbers)

NEW EMAIL ADDRESS

In order to serve our visa applicants more efficiently, we have created this new e-mail address: IVMNLAppointments@state.gov , for early appointment requests and visa scheduling issues. Please note, however, that early appointment requests will be approved on a case to case basis (i.e., aging out cases, or in cases involving personal or medical emergencies), and only if visa interview slots are available.

For other immigrant and K visa concerns, please send an e-mail to IVManilaReplies@state.gov

.

To enable us to electronically sort the messages and provide better, more timely responses, you should follow the instructions below.

The subject line of your email should indicate the visa applicant’s last name, first and middle name (ex. DOE, John James), case number/USCIS receipt number, visa category and priority date.

Messages should be limited to 500 characters or less. The mail size should not be more than 15 KB.

Do not submit documentation or attachments with your message as our system is unable to receive inquiries with attachments.

Do not send your inquiry more than once as duplicate inquiries will congest our system and delay our response time.

Based on the instruction letter sent by the USEM, visa applicant must undergo medical exam at least 1 week before the date of interview.

If time is not enough, he can reschedule his date of appointment with the embassy.

Well that 7 - 10 days is just a "kindly" suggestion... sort of like the pirate code ;)

I know of others that have done the medical only 2 or 3 days before the medical.

Your husband can complete his medical on Friday/Monday and still complete his interview on Tuesday. The Embassy will issue his visa after they receive his medical results. Make sure your husband tells St. Lukes to put a rush on the delivery of the medical results. St. Lukes might even let him hand-carry his medical results to the interview.

He can complete the CFO seminar after he gets his visa.
