And just because someone is highly armed and capable of doing things by force doesn't mean they're going to. That's the part some people can't accept. When you're ALL armed, you're compelled to be civil to one another. When the biggest, baddest war lord is facing armed peasants, he must first disarm them before lording over them.

Simply put, an armed man can't be lorded over!

Arming everyone in the hood won't help out at all. You'd just have a bunch of shoot outs and innocent people would be killed in the fallout.

If education is going to be a priority, then make sure hiring practices are equal across the board. You want to get rid of Affirmative Action, go right ahead. But stop turning down qualified applicants with the names Jamal or Laquishia.

Fix the pay disparity, I have no idea why white, black, and hispanics are paid differently if they are all qualified in the same job, but the average median for a white person's pay is 20 times more than a black or hispanic.

I agree with the government programs fix, if you are able to work, then you need to do so, it's that simple. I've met black and white folks that love unemployment checks. It makes me sick, I haven't not worked since I was 15.

No no, I'm trying to turn this into a type of round table discussion. The nature boy mentioned all public assistance. You both agreed culture was the biggest issue. The nature boy suggested removing all public assistance (minus SS because he may need it) as a way of bolstering self reliance among the black community. He hasn't got back to me on whether or not these cuts would be to all people or just blacks. But as I read your statement, it seemed as though self initiative (for the woman) or self respect (for the kid with the half crooked hat) are some of the issues that cause black on black crime to be so high. Correct me if I misinterpreted.

So, like I said, we're at it being a cultural problem. What can you and I (like I said assuming we're white middle class) do to help with this cultural issue or should we care?

So what do you recommend, me and nature boy said yes there is a cultural problem and that has to come from community itself no one else can do it.

I also said when someone like Bill Cosby made comments there was a backlash so not sure as outsider what you and me can do.

I would not agree with you on that qualified applicants are rejected based on name or they are paid less compared to other races.

There are quite a few articles on this subject, I have friends here that went throught it as well. They had to use their middle names to get jobs.
