So, don't give any black people any govt money until they correct their own culture to the point of becoming self sufficient? Or is it all poor people in general?

Wait, or am I looking at this wrong? Is your point, you don't want to help anyone with a government funding unless its yourself?

Yes

I understand the OPs point but its a baitng thread and I've promised myself to stay out of the stupid baiting threads since posting in the dead picture post.. Unfortunately that is pretty much all the P&R threads these days.

As sad as these stats are and the constant doomsday the media thrives on.. Lets remember that 2013 is currently trending to have the lowest murder rate the US has seen in over 100 years. The fact that is happening with the economic downturn we have had is pretty amazing. http://www.motherjones.com/kevin-drum/2013/05/us-murder-rate-track-be-lowest-century - by the way the article has an amazing graph showing two lines: the murder rate and the amount of lead received in childhood pretty amazing correlation.

One positive step to take (in my opinion): legalize some of the current illegal drugs - so much crime and law enforcement issues surround these.

funny that someone presenting a very valid point that shows the insanity of the current race debate in America is baiting.

I will try to post only topics that agree with your point of view from now one.

So why would anyone make any post if it was not garner response .

So what do you guys think about legalizing (I assume all) drugs? Would this be a way to help lower murders in the black community? Certainly gang activity is related to the drug trade.

A lot of this has to do with the fact that once you have the criminal record, just the slightest infraction you're pretty much $crewed in gaining employment as a black person, even in the black community.

Then at that point you do what you have to in order to survive which would be old fashioned American know how i.e. crime.

White collar criminals steal millions then get jobs as security experts. Blacks and minorities get parole and can't even get a bank account.

There are so many levels to this it's impossible to lay out in a dozen responses.

Why is it that black people issue is a cultural problem? How about other races in US?

I thought Americans Cultural Value is about Hard Work -> through hard work and human endeavor, one can improve their status in life.

If other races in US could do it, why can't the black people?

and why is it that black immigrants from other countries economically and socially prosper , but yet black people can't get ahead in this country because of white racism.

I know exactly which thread you're talking about. I tried to stay out of that one too but I think I eventually caved.

So, de-leading the water may have historically helped reduce murder rates. I would have never thought of that one.

yes without a doubt.

Just for the record I know we can't end social programs, but the current programs are so full of waste, pork and abuse there has to be major change.

People have got to work , if it is available

Lots of places around the nation , where we bus in people from other countries to work when 30-40%.of the area population is on means tested benefits.

White America loves a good black immigrant because they'll work 3 or 4 jobs for minimum wage.

Matter of a fact every immigrant is harder working that their US counterpart who's been here a few years.

Anyone coming from another 3rd or 2nd world country to the land of milk and honey is always going to work harder.

Give us something else.

I am married to an immigrant from another country...I will let her know she needs to get three jobs or even one LOL

Maybe i am the exception. we will soon compare notes.

On another note she had to drive out of the parking lot today to get out of site off the RN. They will not release you to drive.

It gave her such a bad headache she had to come home and go to bed.

Every time I gave her a driving suggestion she slammed on brakes. I thought about the cop rear ending that poor woman and started dying laughing.

Real men can drive after a healthy shot of propofol, but I had my guns

Hahaha...

Once out of the lot you drove?

I think taking care of you counts as 3 jobs at least.

But nobody wants to deal with the problems they're facing in their communities.

Of course not. They like it just the way it is. Government policies promote more of the same and that is the idea. The "problems" they are facing were carefully cultivated for that purpose. If you do not believe it you are part of the problem.

Ah ok, some progress here. So it's still a culture thing and the social programs are broken. You're suggesting a major overhaul in said programs. What would be the biggest bullet points for reforming these programs? Or am I placing too much emphasis on them? So far we do have some support for legalizing all drugs. Anything else we can do legislative wise to change black culture?
