Over 11, 000 dead African Americans at the hands of other African Americans since the TM incident happened. Yet one white man who a jury said acted in self defense is the focal point of our nation, and is the most critical issue in the black community today.

Over 11,000 dead African Americans. 7% committed by other than African Americans. Where is the real threat ?

think someone has their priorities wrong.

http://www.ijreview.com/2013/07/65527-in-513-days-between-trayvon-shooting-and-zimmerman-verdict-11106-blacks-murdered-by-other-blacks/

To be exact, the shameful truth is that 93% of African-American murders are committed by other African-Americans. That is breathtakingly awful when you consider how incensed the African-American community is about the Trayvon tragedy, no matter what you believe about Zimmerman’s guilt.

Let’s do the gruesome math, not out of morbidity, but because it manifests the incredible self-centered insanity of people like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton.

8,000-9,000 African-Americans are murdered each year.

93% of them by other African-Americans.

That’s 7,905 (from average)

That’s 21.65 murdered each day by other African-Americans.

And these racebaiting culture-hustling microphone-pimps only get riled up when a “White Hispanic” kills an African-American? It’s absolutely shameful.

To update, in the 513 days between Trayvon dying, and the Zimmerman verdict, 11,106 African Americans have been murdered by other African-Americans.

How many claimed self defense and were acquitted?

No clue but I am sure there were some

11,000 dead African Americans at the hands of other African Americans. 7% or less committed by other races.

Black Teens are at risk because of the TM case.

Anyone else think maybe Racist are driving that debate and if they really wanted change and justice this would receive as much outrage by the race hustlers.

Nah. I think everyone knows black teens were at risk before the TM case.

But nobody wants to deal with the problems they're facing in their communities.

Yup Yup - The fix for Moral Decay seems problematic, for those communities, you betcha.

Still, the effort continues - I note Steve Harvey has been quite successful with turnaround in small-batches and in isolated areas. I pray his efforts will continue, though.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

When the term race hustlers is used it's usually not going to be helpful to the black community. Yet isn't it all our community?

Just saying...

It is.

I mean actual communities, neighborhoods.

This abundance of violence mostly takes place where gang activity is high. And gang activity gets high because the members of these gangs generally have no other options. They're in poor, black neighborhoods with a lack of an education and lack of job opportunity. Poverty breeds violence.

So what's the best thing we can do as a society to help lower these numbers? As in laws considering that's what you really have to do to force people to change. Or whatever I dunno. The key is, what do you think the solution is to these numbers?

Honestly. I think holding people responsible for their own actions, stopping all the massive social programs that have greased this downward spiral, would be a great start.

Which ones, like food stamps, school grants, WIC, social security, medicare? Any others in particular? All of the ones I listed?

The change has to come from within the community as well, few years back Bill Cosby made a comment about how things need to change and African American community just went crazy against him.

So how are you going to legislate it? Or is the suggestion to not?
