Seriously?! laughing.gif

Look at your left hand ring finger.... now tell me why! wink.png

We know.... smile.png

I don't see a ring on my left hand. Traditional Filipino custom (stemming from the Spanish Catholic traditions) places the wedding ring on the right hand. ;)

... my wife is not catholic... let alone Spanish catholic ;) Asking my wife she said everyone she knows wears their wedding band on the left hand.

As for traditions:

In the pre-colonial Philippines, a male suitor would make his intentions known by thrusting his spear into the ground at the entrance of his intended wife's home. This tells everyone (including the occupant) that she is spoken for.

Few men throw spears around in the Philippines these days....

... ring hand wedding band wearing may be heading the same direction.

I wish someone would have told me that, no wonder the neighbors looked at me funny. :D

I was however seriously encouraged to make harana (to serenade) and we were not officially engaged until I asked her parents for permission to marry in person.

It probably differs from province to province. Most of the Filipinas I know socially in the Philippines are Bicolano and they all wear their rings on their right hands. A Filipinas I have met here in the US tend to be split evenly.
