Ok, thanks, that's the number I was looking for.

This all seems premature to me. She is only here two weeks and already she is getting pressure from her siblings to get them Visa's. I just want to give them a number so they stop bugging us for a while.

Seriously?

Yeah the sibling thing takes forever. I'm pretty surprised her family wants to come here. That's unusual from the Thais that I know.

I agree that its unusual. No one in my family ever expressed any interest in even visiting the USA nor coming here to live. They are happy with their lives in Thailand. They also have never asked us for money. We do take care of our mothers basic needs but this was totally my husbands idea from the beginning.

taking care financially of our parents is one thing but I think they are taking advantage of her situation. I don't know Thai people but you can see this type of behavior in other parts of the world. I personally would be embarresed if my family start acting like that. C'mon if we were talking about a country dealing with a war but from what I heard Thailand is a safe place and a extremely beautiful country. My advice to the OP is try to explain them how hard it is, and if they keep pushing just ignore them

Not sure what the root motive is. This morning she passed along the wait time. That "should" put it to bed. I hope so anyway. I've got enough to worry about.

I know I've brought this up before, but since you married her, her family issues become your issues now. So that's always gonna be there. Just the Thai mentality. Just don't let it get out of hand. My niece wants a damn IPad for her birthday. That thing is the equivalent of a months salary in Thailand I told my wife no way. But I'm gonna get it for her because she does good in school, and she's had rough time in life through no fault of her own. I'm just not telling her that yet.

That's a pain in the butt when you need to move and you have kids. I read several times where ex husband dont allow the ex wife to take the kids. But if she choose to stay, there's nothing she can do. It most be very hard for your wife, Im pregnant and cant imagine been apart from my kid. I hope she finally find some peace with her family and start enjoying her new life

I know you mean well but advising anyone to ignore the family in Thailand is a very bad idea. The family unit is the most important thing to Thais even though they may not act like it at times. It is part of the culture.

This couple is still working on the foundation of the relationship in my opinion. This means there needs to be consideration before confrontation. Slowlymans fiancée is a new and difficult position that is totally unknown to her. Everything in her life changed within a few plane trips. She should not be asked to choose between her Thai family and the present situation.

As far as Thai people all wanting to come to the USA I can say that no one in my family has any interest in doing so. I have been here about 5 years now and have never been asked to help them obtain a visa for example. They are happy with life in Thailand.

Thailand is beautiful as you say. Safety? In my home town area violence has increased dramatically in every sector. War? In the South we have lived with terrorist bombings for years in the conflict with the Muslim population. This just isn't news in the USA.

dont get me wrong, Im not saying she should choose, just saying that if they keep talking about the visa, just ignore the topic and try to focus in something else. And It's nothing personal against Thai people, this kind of behavior happens around the globe and of course, I know all the Thai families are not like that. And family is not just important in Thai culture, is important in all the cultures I know including mine. But I think she needs to stand her ground and try to explain her family they can get them here, at least not for now. I think they can understand what she is going through. And in terms of war, Colombia, Venezuela, and some other countries has very very violent situation but is not a war.

Yes, her birth father won't release custody without a significant payoff. Additionally, we asked her if she wants to go to the US or stay in Thailand. She chose Thailand.

What this guy has done isn't new in Thailand. These are the real people that generate the sale of humans. Many of these guys are on the same level as farm animals.

This subject is very difficult to understand for anyone especially people that aren't Thai. My suggestion is to work with your fiancée on the present issues and give her time to adjust to her new surroundings ect. Then when she is settled there will be a better time to formulate a plan that could result in the child being allowed to immigrate.

I suggest you seek info from people that have found a way to obtain this permission but refrain from entering into discussions with anyone until the time is correct. This is to be seen as a serious game where the rules can be difficult to identify. Do not show your hand to anyone too early or you will regret it.
