Medical Exam AFTER Interview??? Sounds wrong.

Hi all,

So my husband has an interview on August 4th in Kabul Afghanistan. He and I both called to make an appointment for the medical exam but they keep telling him that he can come on August 5th. This confuses me because the NVC website says that the medical examination has to be completed PRIOR TO THE INTERVIEW.

They say that it will be fine. But I doubt. I know how long the embassy takes to process documents and say that we do agree to go after the interview, it will only slow down the process of obtaining the Visa.

Is there anyone that has experienced this? And, anyone have advice as to what I should do?

Regards

Meera

We had the same problem, but my Fiance went to the clinic intead of calling them, He took his interview letter and told them he has to get his medical examination done before his interview they gave him a date. tell your Fiance to go to the clinic and take his interview letter or if he knows someone who works there its even better. you guys have do schedule his exam as soon as possible it takes time to get the result, and He has to take the result to his interview. After exam my fiance had to call them everyday or twice a day to get the result , Lucky he got it a day after his interveiw. Oh Yes!! make sure you send him the original signed and dated of form I-134 affidavit of support, they DO NOT take the scanned or emailed coppy. Good Luck :)

Thanks

Meera...like Elizabeth said, I suggest u emphasize the date of interview to the medical center. If they can get u in before, great! If not, it's ok...no worries. My husband went for his medical a few days before his interview and he didn't get results yet because they said it will be " ready 10 days after interview." Since he didn't have the results at the time of his interview, the medical center gave him a piece of paper stating that he had his appnt and was seen by the dr. And he picked up his results exactly 10 days later to which he dropped it off at embassy. To answer ur question, yes it will cause a delay to ur husband's case but it will only be brief.
