I just received an email saying that they ordered production on my ead card..... I'm just curious if that means that my Advance Parole is 100% attached to that, because it still says initial review.....

thought I read that they are attached to one another now?

fingers crossed that it is.

You have to apply for both EAD AND Advance Parole, if you did then you will get a combo card that serves for both.

FYI My husband applied for both but only got an email for card production for the EAD, and it came as the combo card for both...... good luck! :)

I had been planning to visit Canada so when I saw EAD approved and initial review on AP I stressed about it endlessly hoping they hadn't forgotten. It came to me as a combo card - EAD on the top and at the bottom it said 'also serves as Advance Parole I512' which we used for our planned travel to visit family.

In fact, to this day it still says initial review. Kind of weird if you ask me but know that you're not alone!

As far as working while waiting I don't know about that one... someone else would be better to answer it. It shouldn't take too long to arrive though.

It only takes a few days to arrive once it says your card is in production so you'll have no problems. I'm also going back home Aug 15! On your EAD card it will say on the bottom that it serves as Advance Parole.

I wouldn't try working until you have the card in hand, your employer should need to have proof you are authorized to work before you actually start working, most places ask you that question when you are just applying for work, so personally I wouldn't risk it. I think it took just a couple of days from the card in production email, to the date the card arrived in the mail.

Also when you start your employment they will have to fill out an I9 for you and file it with the government. They need to validate your documents which include proof that you can legally work in the US (aka EAD). You cannot really start working until you have your EAD in hand.
