Who does? The buyer or the seller? The car lot?

If you meet a guy over the internet and buy a car from him, does he check your license? Does he call the BMV to make sure your license is good?

How you gonna get the car in your name genius?

Do just white out the previous owner and just write it on the title and call it good?

You have to register the car right?

Where are you buying your cars on the black market? Are you sure you're over 16?

What's really funny is you're proving my point for me.

You don't have to do squat to purchase a car. Sure, you're supposed to do some stuff later (change the name on registration, etc.) but to complete the actual transaction, there's no background check.

Why is there one with firearms?

Um...you can't use the car after the purchase then.

So you're all for owning the weapon but not being allowed to use it?

Your whole lets not check anyone idea is insane for firearms.

Still trying? I'm laughing at you right now. "You can't use a car you bought unless it's in your name." Is that like a criminal buying a gun and not using it until their background check (which they skipped because they stole the gun) comes back.

You sir, are a genius.

Perhaps we should have mandatory waiting periods before being allowed to drive a newer model of car?

What you're trying to do with a background check is say someone who's a licensed driver should be required to retake the driving test every time they want to buy a new car.

Not at all. Just making sure the license wasn't revoked or suspended. Cops do that every time they ask for your license. Gotta show my ID every time I buy a bottle of Jack. It's odd since I buy it at the same place and just like everyone else, I ain't getting younger. So if I was okay to buy it last time, I should be okay to buy it this time. And yet, I have to produce an ID. See how that works?

Fine, forget the background check and institute a universal gun registry and licensing regime. Insurance requirement and all. I am on board. How about you?

The NRA doesn't teach that kind of reasoning. He's got this years talking points...checks bad...sales to criminals good.

Now you guys are getting it. Background checks are just a step to licenses and registration. Not in America!

A car is not usually bought with the intent to kill. A gun is.

You're the only ignorant person here. I can't help it if you come from a nation of cowards. So you have a gay American boyfriend that petitioned you for a K1?

Congratulations! I am awarding you with the prize of dumbest guy on VJ. You have created a profile on me made on other people's false assumptions about me and my hot bf. You are dangerous and easily brain-washed.
