Hi all, I am from Malaysia with two children that is going to get married to someone in the States. So this is my problem, My interview is on the 30th of July and I have most of the documents ready except the " Certificate of Good Conduct " which I previously thought would only take about 3 days to process, now It turns out it takes 1-2 months. I have already applied for it and it is In Process. So I am wondering what I should do. Thanks.

Generally, in these cases, the embassies tend to let you interview on your scheduled date, and approve your visa pending the missing evidence. My wife (my fiancee at the time) was missing her medical report on the interview date. They told her to bring it in when it was ready, and that they would issue the visa then.

What would Xenu do?

Thanks guys for replying, good to know that people are ready to help us through this rather difficult time. But Duraaa, Are you sure that this is allowed? Do I have to call in first or something? What is the procedure?

It's possible that this won't be true in your country, but...

Basically, my wife (fiancee at the time) couldn't get her vaccination card, so she couldn't complete the medical. She went to the interview without the medical. They interviewed her anyway, and told her she was approved, but that she would need to bring the medical to get the visa. She brought it, and got the visa.

My stepkids interview had a similar issue. I guess they didn't have the two older kids sign one of the biographical forms. So they went back to do it the next day, and were given the visas at that time.

The embassy will, probably, let you interview if you show up on your interview day. Then, they will tell you that you were approved, but that you need the certificate to get the visa. You give them the certificate, they print your visa, and that's it.

What would Xenu do?
