The National Visa Center forwarded my I-129F petition to the consulate on July 17, and my fiance received the P3 on August 5th.

That's some great news ! To celebrate, fill out yer official VJ timeline over at

If you have some problems when doing it, come back on PC and try again.

Hello,

NVC sent the K1 to the consulate on July 22, but as of an email from the consulate on August 8, they haven't received the case let alone mailed out the P3. Once NVC sent out the K1, my status on CEAC was "Ready" and suggested that we attempt to schedule an interview, etc. Today, our case status went from "Ready" to "Administrative Processing". Is the change to Administrative Processing a sign that they've received the case and is processing it to send out the P3 (i.e., good news) or a sign that something is amiss (i.e., bad news)?

Thanks.

Have you tried calling DOS and asking what your status is? Administrative Processing is a term that has several meanings. The process has changed a fair amount in the last year so I'm not entirely sure what to tell you but I bet a visa specialist at DOS can.

Also don't hesitate to start your own thread, even though your question is the same or similar if you don't see an answer that fits you should start your own.

I didn't try calling the DOS because I've had trouble contacting them in the past (never figured out the correct numbers to push) but got through today. Apparently my "administrative processing" means that they are waiting for us to return the p3 (they apparently sent it out on Monday). So apparently it's a good thing in my case.

Bingo!

And for anyone else who needs to call DOS, you can always view Darnell's profile and find this: Call DOS - Get a Human! 202-663-1225 Press 1 then 0 for a live operator.

...don't forget to tip you waitress.

Ah, I knew I should have checked his profile. Silly me checking the pinned thread in the DOS forum....dry.png

Darnell, the ustraveldocs.com account is all set up. We've paid for the visa and have the receipt number. We haven't scheduled an interview because my fiancee wanted to wait until she got her p3 or at least knew that the process on their end was moving along. Things on that end are going smoothly and we're slowly accumulating the notaries too. Thanks for all your help guys!
