Hey guys. I need help. My whatsapp conversation, if I print it out entirely, is over 300 pages. Any suggestions on how many months I should print or should I just not have my fiance even take that with him. I was going to have him print out that if the interviewer would like to look at his cell phone that he could do that instead. Thoughts? Ideas? Thank you

Cell phones (and CDs, DVDs, and any other electronic media) are not allowed in the consulates and embassies.

The typical suggestion is to print very carefully selected pieces of correspondence that express what you want the consul to see. Print out the full log of your correspondence (message titles & dates). Avoid (like the plague!) producing any messages or message titles in which you refer to yourselves as "husband" or "wife." Consuls who see this will immediately reject the visa application, and you'll be in the awkward (and perhaps impossible) position of having to prove a negative -- that you're not married.

The number of pieces that you print will vary by consulate. Your embassy isn't known to be particularly tough. Go atop any VJ page and click "Embassy Info" and "Reviews: Embassy" for insights into what people have gone through.

My husband just had his interview last week and they didn't look at anything he brought for evidence. It is of course best to go fully prepared but they do not need to see all 300 pages! I would imagine screen shots are best to show that nothing could have been 'tampered with', but I have noo idea!

Hey everyone were in the same boat we have used what'sapp for everything well most not everything and I've been printing every single thing we have 6000 pages and that's missing 3 months, but now were trying to find what to do about this is impossible to so screenshots of what'sapp it doesn't keep it all after a period if time. Most likely what I will do is pick bits of each month and send. As far as the cally eachother husband and wife thing we do it all the time but with as much info as we have talking about getting married here instead of lima I don't see how it can be a problem.

In the same boat as you. I'm not about to print our 600+ pages of whatsapp history. I'm currently editing down at "special" moments. Another problem that I encounter is that we leave voice message quite frequent. So that would be hard to "display". Anyone has thoughts on that?

This is what we did

We used Skype and Viber, but we only used Skype as evidence (as far as chatlogs go).

We used things from the beginning of our relationship to the middle like special holidays and birthdays all the way to our current relationship. We had about 40-50 pages. Pretty much copy and pasted all onto Word Doc.

Other than all the messages back and forth, they are also able to see how long our video callings are to eachother. In our case manyyy are 10+ hours! :D

What we did with our whatsapp evidence: I emailed the transcripts to my email every few days. Then I screenshoted all the emails that had whatsapp in the subject line, showing how many transcripts I'd emailed to myself. This was about 5 pages with about 30 emails a piece on each page listed. Then I selectively printed about 4 transcripts and put that in behind the screenshoted emails. I hope that makes sense. For all our relationship evidence, I tabbed a file that had each mode of communication in it's own section: Skype, email, Facebook, viber, whatsapp, Google plus, etc. all told, the file was about 2" thick. The interviewer at the Dublin embassy said "whoa! I don't need to see all that!" He simply asked for about 5 pages to be taken out to show we have a bona fide relationship.

That is good information. We mainly just used Skype. Come home everyday and Skype for hours. We didnt see any use of using anything else :P

Oh we sent 200 pages, it was actually a bit more so my fiance removed some pages that were....kinda private...lol I used office word, using a small but readable size.

Then for the interview I printed out 143 pages (from the time we sent the I129f to the days prior of the interview), but this time I "searched" for specific words and situations and deleted those lines ..hehe.....before the interview I was willing to take 5-6 pages per month and send those, but my fiance chose to send alllll the pages....eventually the whatsapp evidence was not requested during the interview, so I spent some $$ printing the whatsapp log for nothing...but better be prepared than not.

Now, back to the original 200 pages....do they actually read it? I am not sure.... If they did, they must have picked some pages and read those, or the person who reviewed our case was an avid fast reader because we got our NOA2 in 15 days....

Good luck! :)
