After his acquittal in the killing of Trayvon Martin, George Zimmerman is now set to renew his push for legal action against NBC News, the Washington Post reported.

The network was forced to apologize for its botched editing Zimmerman's 911 call in 2012. The edit made it sound like Zimmerman voluntarily told an operator that Martin was black. In fact, he was responding to a question about Martin's race.

NBC fired a reporter and a producer for the error, but that was not enough for Zimmerman, who announced in December that he was suing the network for defamation.

The Washington Post's Erik Wemple spoke to Zimmerman attorney James Beasley, who said that the suit had been suspended until Zimmerman's murder trial was completed. Now that the trial is over, Beasley wrote, “We’re going to start in earnest asap."

He should win. What an embarrassment.

You are much more reasonable and moderate now that your ring leader is hiding in embarrassment .

George is gonna make a killing off this killing.

well since I have been fairly on target with most of my predictions, I will make one more.

He will make big bank

Most of it will go to the family of TM, when they win the wrongful death case that is coming.

I don't have a leader.

And I've always said what NBC did was embarrassing. Haven't changed my opinion one bit.

See what happens when you actually pay attention to what I say rather than what you think I think? :)

It was not "enough" for Don Imus to apologize for a much less agregious statement. It was not enough for Paula Dean to apologize for mouthing a "word". It should not be "enough" for a couple people to get fired. I hope he gets millions from this.

That said...I am simply not going to concern myself with the various civil lawsuits that may come of this trial. I hope the people that abused justice will be punished or made to pay back something for what they did. Other than that...count me out. I do not think civil suits are something I need to even pay attention to. There are only about 10 bazillion of them and I do not give a rat's popah about it.

That way he will have some money that Martin's family can then claim from him in their wrongful death lawsuit.

The TM and GZ threads should get their own special forum. They may go on for decades at this rate.
