Administrative Processing

Hi everyone,

Is there anyone from MENA countries or Pakistan that has not had to go through Administrative Processing. I am a male beneficiary and therefore am much more likely to undergo this extra processing. I'd like to think that not everyone has to go through this step and I'm trying to stay hopeful.

Thanks!

We were K1 through Casablanca. No AP. Visa was received 3 business days after interview, and he arrived in the US the following week!

There's a ton of horror stories out there, but I think it's because the people that have the harder time are the loudest. There are plenty of people that pass though MENA without AP; we just don't hear about them as often.

Good luck to you!

Please don't take offense. What I mean is that if someone is on AP, they have more reason to ask questions and make more posts then someone that passed though easily. Perhaps my wording was weird...

Sugheil,

I do not think you fully understood what Jenafid meant. What she was saying was that more than often we hear people's bad experiences as they are more public about them than those people who have had positive experiences. Get it? She did not say that people go into Administrative Processing because they are being "loud."

Jenafid,

No need to apologize. I understood your message in its full context and really appreciate it. I hope I can hear some more positive stories as a moral "pick-me-up." That's why I decided to start this thread, because more than often you only hear negative stories and I wanted to hear some positive ones.

That's interesting. But I have heard that your name could have a lot to do with it especially if it matches with or is close to matching with one of the names on the watch list. InshAllah, our hopes are high, especially since my name is not a common Muslim name.

Don't make your hopes too high at start, expect AP and then celebrate if you have none or very short one.

USCIS I-130 Petition for Spouse

September 2012: Filed from abroad to Chicago Lockbox

4 days later: NOA1, Routed to California Service Center

7 days later: Transferred because of new jurisdiction

5 days later: Case Status changed to: Under processing at USCIS office

NOA2 arrived 78 days after NOA1 :)

*I-130 Approval Notice hardcopy finally received in Pakistan, the only notice that arrived.
