Hey guys,

My wife got here in September 2012 on a CR1 visa. Everything went smoothly in the visa process.

We moved in December, 2012 to an apartment (different from address on visa app).

i didn't know there was a change of address form so I did not notify the uscis. Will that be a problem that its so late?

Will I have to pay any fines, or will anything bad happen as long as I send a form now?

Let me know with any advice.

Thanks, paul

Just be sure to file the AR-11 form on-line for the immigrant spouse and complete the I-865 change of address of the USC spouse responsible for the I-864. That way the dates on the forms match up and the USCIS has the most recent address. This is like driving 65 MPH in a 55 MPH, unless you get caught you do not know what is going to happen. Just remember in the future that you have 10 days to notify the USCIS of any change of address.

Good luck,

Dave

OK, thanks for the reply. So I got the AR-11 submitted. Do I have to mail the I-865? I can't find a way to submit the I-865 electronically, just a .PDF link.

The I-865 is required to be filed by the USC sponsor and must be mailed to the address per the instructions. You will receive an NOA1 as your receipt. For the AR-11, I printed out the confirmation page with the confirmation number for my records.

I am K-1 but I think it will apply the same. I changed the address online and got 2 emails from USCIS confirming in 2 days. I checked the status and it says my address was changed. If you are USC, it is better to change online.

USC must mail in the I-865 form. There is no change of address on-line for it and the USC does not have to file the AR-11, only the LPR files that and that can be filed on-line.
