I-131 - intended date for travel (completing form as PDF)

Hi all

After getting married on Friday (yeah!) I am completing the AOS paperwork.

I am completing the I-131 but have no current plans to travel, so have no date to add. I know the common guidance is to fill that out as 'unknown' but I am completing the form on my PC as a PDF. Therefore, it is expecting a date to be typed in. I can't print the form off and add that by hand as all my answers look like they are encoded in the bar code on the form.

Any suggestions as to what I can do? Is my only alternative to print out the form and complete it all by hand?

Can you put in NONE or N/A? Or, even, just leave it blank. I'm thinking back to the only other form I've done with a barcode (I-864) and that one says to leave fields blank if they're N/A (I guess so it doesn't screw with the barcode).

Also - massive congratulations on your wedding! heart.gif

Thanks for the congrats.

I can't put in N/A or NONE as the PDF requires a date to be input. I think I have no choice but to leave it blank. All the other forms were fairly straightforward. This one is a bit of a pain. Huge swathes of it don't appear to need to be completed. The form now asks me 'on a separate piece of paper, please explain how you qualify for AP'. Um. Do I really need to type up 'I entered on a K1 visa. I got married. I'm now applying for AOS but I'm applying for AP in case I need to leave the US prior to getting my green card?'

All the dire warnings in the instructions for this form make me think that I won't leave the US unless it's a matter of life or death!

No, you don't need to. There's a "or" somewhere in the instructions that tells you don't need to include an explanation sheet.
